Khaula Rizwan is an elementary ICT teacher based in Lahore Grammar School (private school in Lahore, Pakistan). Being one of the few self-advocates for inclusion, she also provides individualized English language coaching to students with special needs enrolled in general education systems.
Her research interests include teachers’ and students’ perceptions toward inclusive education in Pakistan, the role of general educators in enabling inclusion, and community involvement to name a few.
She currently holds a Master’s degree in Education. As of autumn 2015, she will be beginning post-graduate study in special education in the US, as she has been awarded a Fulbright scholarship.
Being hard of hearing from birth, she also seeks to be part of an international network which strives to push forward inclusion and reduce the burden on special educators.
