#DrawDisability championsThe 100 most voted drawings of the #DrawDisability contest will be presented in a final exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (USA) in December, 2015, to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The final 100 drawings were selected by the public from a list of 250 finalists. In order to maintain the geographical representation of the campaign, at least one drawing per country has been included in the final selection.



#DrawDisability was launched by the United Nations Secretary-General’s Global Education First Initiative (GEFI), in partnership with the Global Observatory for Inclusion (GLOBI) and the United Nations Global Education First Initiative Youth Advocacy Group (GEFI-YAG)on December 3, 2014, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. In 8 months we received almost 3,000 drawings from 50 countries:

Afghanistan, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Palestine, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. 


In order to elect the final 100 winners, in August, 2015, we asked the public to vote for their favourite artworks, choosing from a list of 250 drawings that were pre-selected by a jury of experts according to the following criteria:

1. Message & Education/Disability relevance: 40%; Creativity: 30%; Technique: 20%; Overall impact: 10%

2. Geographical representation (minimum 1 drawing per participating country)
